What would be a good birthday gift for my mom? A nice flower arrangement with her favorite flower would work. Stay away from practical (boring) and something you may have given her before (unoriginal). Give some thought to what she likes. Does she like crafts?
Perhaps a gift card to a fabric or craft store, with a token related present shows her what a thoughtful child she has raised.
A close friend of mine recently lost a dear pet and just a condolence card doesn't seem quite enough. What else can I do? Believe it or not, a card is appropriate, but if you want to do something more then perhaps a donation to a pet charity on your friend's behalf would be a meaningful gesture.
